Link To UHS - Become A Link Partner

Free ARELIS Tips

ARELIS is a linking program that builds finds link partners, builds links pages, emails webmasters, etc. which is a whole lot faster than manual links pages. You can try ARELIS free-- they have a free trial version here. Or visit my other article that explains why you would use ARELIS.

I've been using the ARELIS program now to build my link directory, and I've learned how the different features work. Here are some different tips that I've found work well:

FINDING NEW LINK PARTNERS:

There are 2 ways to do this -- by looking for sites based on a keyword search, and by finding sites that link to your competitors.

Keyword Search:
When you first try this, choose for Arelis to find only about 10. That way you can see what kind of results you are getting from those keywords. If ARELIS is giving you good link partners, then keep track and write those keywords down for use later. If it isn't returning sites you want to link with, then don't use those and try new ones. By keeping the initial sites down to a small amount, you don't waste time having ARELIS find sites you don't like.

Competitor Search:

I don't really use it to look for competitors, my site is pretty unique so that doesn't work well for me, but instead I use it to look for sites that I know are well-linked. For example, I will enter in, say, a general horse website like imh.org or equine.com -- and this will usually return good, relevant sites. Also, this tells you that the site has a links page or does links to other websites.

"EDIT SITE" FUNCTION:

I always take a look at the Edit Site function (press F2 key) before I email the webmaster. Sometimes people don't have their own domain names, so your link could be wrong. If someone has, for example, a www.hometown.aol.com/~username site, then ARELIS will automatically link to just www.hometown.aol.com thinking that is the site's domain. Be sure to check and copy/paste the correct URL in.
