Screen
Resolution
"Screen
resolution" is a setting that affects the way things appear
on your computer monitor. There are small resolutions, where graphics
and text all appear large in the monitor, then there are higher
resolutions where text and images appear smaller. It's a bit like
looking through a camera with a zoom-- depending on how you set
the zoom, objects may look large or small through the camera. Zoom
in on a particular thing, and it will appear bigger-- zoom out,
and everything gets smaller.
Websites
(and everything else on your computer screen) will appear different
in different resolutions. You can set your computer at any of the
resolutions you like-- it just depends on what you prefer. I like
to keep mine set at 1024x768.
Here
is an example of our old website in different screen resolutions:

800x600 Resolution

1024x768 Resolution
1152 X 864 Resolution
Your computer probably has another resolution
or two besides these, but as these are the most common (and the
easiest to read/view text and websites in) I'm just showing them
for examples. You can change your screen resolution and see what
you like best. Many computers default to 800x600, and probably the
majority of people use this resolution. I've found that I like 1024x768
the best. You will probably find higher resolutions (like 1152x864)
make text too hard for you to read.
